Navigating Life: A Tale of Adventure, Discovery, and the Unraveling Relationship Between a Man and His Map
Guildford circular passing through Puttenham; a medium-length walk on a brisk day, finally using the down jacket in sub-zero perceived temperatures; thrilling, armed only with a map, following the trails and (involuntarily) getting lost until realizing a few tens of meters later, sharpening the senses each time.
Then the rustle of a robin among the branches, surely moved by hunger arising from a frosty day; its reward for such courage and a few crumbs, until chased away by a crow. Nature is cruel, and “feeding is cheating” 😅
Then, another unexpected break, with a bench facing the pond, and the Canadian geese to be admired in all their splendor.
I continue until I meet again with the rowers of the River Wey, another hot chocolate awaiting me as a reward for venturing out on this beautiful dry and cold day, another illusion of having scared the comfort zone, at least for today, isn’t it ?
