After intense logistical preparation, the big event of the summer finally arrives! :) Thanks to Paolo and Valeria, we are organizing a hike with the friends from Fogolar Furlan GB. I think there is no better occasion for a visit to Surrey, near London and accessible by direct train. Very pleasant to visit, the choice falls on the Box Hill area.
The starting point is Dorking (main station) and it's a real Friulian invasion here, a bit like Barcelona during the Champions League in 2005. On the trains from Victoria, with cars storming the parking lots, and even from nearby stations for diverted trains (from Dorking Deepdene).
29 warrior souls thirsty for beers with me, we head towards the Denbies vineyards. We move along the Mole Gap Trail and continue perpendicularly cutting the North Downs Way, then along a bridge over the Mole River. We need to cross a busy road for a bit of thrill, then we climb towards Juniper Top. Lunch with a luxury view at the Box Hill View Point before (they could never be missing) some beers in good company.
Definitely worth repeating!
What a great day out! Thanks for planning this amazing hiking route.
