Today we are preparing to embark on an easy walk as a farewell to Mrs. Alida, my mother-in-law, who returns to Colombia tomorrow. We successfully used the map of the area (a classic OS Explorer) and it was a great satisfaction.
We visited Deepden House and its gardens just after leaving Dorking, and we walked a stretch of the Greensand Way to Brokcham, where we stopped for lunch at a Grumpy Mole pub.
In Betchworth, we visited the ruins of the castle.
In the end, the girls complained about the fatigue and the weather, so we had to skip the visit to the mausoleum on the way back. It's a good excuse to return in a few weeks.
